ELIGIBILITY

To participate in the Face of Sapele Contest, you must:

  • Be between 16 years and 35 years of age.
  • Be a legal citizen of Nigeria (whether resident in Nigeria or abroad).
  • Sign up through the official registration page and meet the age requirement as of the entry date.

This contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law.

AGREEMENT TO RULES

By participating, you (“the Contestant”) agree to:

  1. Be fully unconditionally bound by these rules.
  2. Meet the eligibility requirements.
  3. Accept all decisions made by the NaijaVote Team and its sponsors as final and binding.

CAUTION

Any attempt to:

  • Tamper with the contest’s social media accounts, website, or operations.
  • Undermine the legitimate operation of the contest.

…may result in disqualification and legal action under criminal or civil law.

The NaijaVote Team reserves the right to disqualify any contestant found violating rules or behaving inappropriately during any contest phase.

CONTEST PERIOD

  • Registration begins: January 1, 2024, at 12:00 AM (GMT+1).
  • Voting begins: January 15, 2024, at 12:00 AM (GMT+1).

HOW TO ENTER

  1. Free Entry: No purchase or payment is required to register.
  2. Submit Entries:
    • Upload your photo via the contest website.
    • Alternatively, submit entries through our social media outlets.
  3. Provide accurate and complete information during registration. Misrepresentation will result in disqualification.
  4. Entries submitted after the deadline will be deemed invalid.

Note: Entries must respect third-party rights (e.g., intellectual property, privacy) and be appropriate for a family-friendly platform.

WINNER SELECTION

Winners will be determined through a 3-stage voting process:

Stage 1:

  • Participants must secure at least 200 votes (at ₦50 per vote) to advance.

Stage 2:

  • The Top 15 contestants with the highest votes will qualify for the final stage.

Stage 3 (Final):

  • From the Top 15, winners will be selected based on total votes received.

PRIZES

  • 1st Place: ₦3,000,000 cash prize + an Iphone 16.
  • 2nd Place: ₦2,000,000 cash prize.
  • 3rd Place: ₦1,000,000 cash prize.

Winners must collect their prizes within 10 days of official notification, or the prize will be forfeited.

VOTING DETAILS

  • Votes cost ₦50 each and can be cast via the official website or other designated platforms.
  • Voters (including contestants) can vote as many times as desired.

GENERAL RULES

  1. Technical Issues: The contest is not responsible for technical malfunctions affecting entries or votes.
  2. Use of Photos: By entering, contestants grant the NaijaVote Team permission to use their photos for marketing and promotional purposes for up to 1 year without additional compensation.
  3. Voting Transparency: The organization reserves the right not to disclose individual vote counts except as required by law.

CONDUCT

Contestants agree to:

  1. Behave appropriately throughout the competition.
  2. Refrain from tampering with the voting process or violating the competition rules.

Disqualification:
The organization reserves the right to disqualify contestants or revoke prizes for:

  • Rule violations.
  • Unsportsmanlike conduct.

TERMINATION & CHANGES

The NaijaVote Team reserves the right to:

  • Modify, suspend, or terminate the contest at any time without prior notice.
  • Update these rules as necessary to comply with applicable laws.

GOVERNING LAW

The contest is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • No Refund Policy: Votes are non-refundable.
  • Prizes will be processed within 10-15 working days after the competition ends.
  • By participating, contestants accept these terms in full.
